- 원곡은 YMCA로 유명한 Villagepeople이 불렀지만 큰 인기는 없었다.[1]
- 나중에 Pet Shop Boys가 리메이크해서 세계적으로 유명해졌다.
- 박명수의 '바다의 왕자'가 Pet Shop Boys의 Go west를 흉내(?)내서 만든 것으로 유명하다.[2]
- 가사에서 'go west' 를 'go marry' 또는 '결혼해' 로 바꾸면, 결혼 축가로 괜찮을 것 같다.
